In this blog, we will discuss how to open MCB Freelancer Account. To open Freelancer account at MCB, go to the official website of MCB or click here and choose Apply option. Then click on “Start a new account opening application”. Then agree to the terms and conditions of MCB and continue. Now type your mobile number and email address and enter the OTP received on your mobile number and email address respectively. Don’t forget to turn on your location in order to open a freelancer account at MCB, otherwise you will not able to move towards next step.
On the next step, you need to provide your personal information including your name as per your CNIC, your CNIC number, CNIC issue date, and your province. Then provide your gender, CNIC expiry date, marital status, date of birth, place of birth, Father’s name, Mother’s name, qualification, and nationality. Then choose your profession/occupation. Now provide account information including account type, nature of account, currency of account, deposit type (remittance or other), product type, purpose of account, city, and proffered branch of MCB.

You need to provide residential details in the next step including current mailing address, city, or any other address (if any). It’s better to provide address which is mentioned on your CNIC. Now provide your Kin details including his/her name, phone number, relationship with person, and his/her email address. Then you have to provide additional information, which includes some important questions including source of funds, requirement of special assistance, association of any family member with any NGO or organization. association of any family member to any PEP.
Now, provide the details of banking including any existing banking relationship, any existing bank account, and details of any bank which refused to open your account. Then enter your account operating information including your expected monthly deposit, withdrawal, expected number of withdrawals and expected number of deposits in one month. Then select your mode of transaction.
Now make sure to agree to the terms and conditions of MCB. Then provide documents of source of income. Upload your slip and other document in the documents submission form and submit it. Now review your details and edit it if any mistake. Then submit your details and wait for 48 hours. You will receive an account activation SMS and mail within next 48 hours. That mail contains your account number and IBAN.
Now go to the official website of MCB and activate your account using your account number, CNIC, and create a strong password. After creation of account, visit your preferred or nearest MCB branch for biometric verification within 60 days after the creation of account. If you don’t verify your account within 60 days, MCB will freeze your account, and unfreeze it after biometric verification. After biometric verification, you will be able to receive international payments to your MCB account.
